About The Comic Workshop

The Comic Workshop provides engaging visual storytelling and comic art education across Metro Atlanta. Founded by professional artists, we empower students to write, draw, and publish their own comics through structured, hands-on programs.

Role Overview

We are hiring 2 Sequential Art Instructors to facilitate in-person comic art programs as we expand into Gwinnett and Cobb Counties. Instructors can choose their preferred primary territory (Gwinnett, Cobb, or both). You will lead engaging sessions for Youth (ages 7–17) and/or Adults (18+). No prior teaching experience is required—we provide full training on our custom curriculum as well as all necessary instructional art supplies.


Schedule & Hours

  • Programs run primarily during weekday after-school afternoons, evenings, select weekends, and public school holidays (when public schools are closed).

  • Flexible Scheduling: Work is assigned strictly on a session-by-session basis with no weekly minimum hour requirement. Instructors set their own availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate The Comic Workshop’s structured sequential art curriculum for youth and adult programs in your selected territory.

  • Teach core comic creation skills, including character design, panel layout, penciling, inking, and visual storytelling.

  • Manage room setup, supply organization, and cleanup for each assigned session.

  • Maintain positive, professional engagement with students, parents, and partner venue staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education / Portfolio: Degree in Sequential Art, Illustration, or Animation preferred OR demonstrated proficiency in sequential art via an online portfolio.

  • Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required. A strong desire to teach and share a passion for comic books is essential.

  • Location & Travel: Must have reliable personal transportation to travel to sites within your chosen county (Gwinnett, Cobb, or both).

  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a standard background check prior to placement at partner locations.
